Umkomaas is a mecca for scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts alike. The main diving area is Aliwal Shoal and is rated consistently as one of the top ten diving sites in the world. Agulhas House is centrally located in the centre of Umkomaas. Once you have arrived you park your car, kick back and relax. From Agulhas House you have a short walk to the beach, dive centres, shops, restaurants, bars and Umkomaas Golf Course (another four within 15mins drive). Nothing is more than 5 minutes away.

The property is set back from the road in tranquil grounds with secure parking. The guesthouse has been creatively architected from an old doctors clinic.

We offer 4 en-suite rooms all finished to high quality standards. Currently we have two en-suite family rooms each comprising two bedrooms. We also have two other en-suite rooms that can be made up as doubles or twins, the choice is yours. The rooms are decorated in neutral colours to create a harmonious atmosphere with an emphasis on comfort. All have their own entrance from the light and airy hallway. Large wooden sliding doors allow access to each rooms private patio area where seating is provided to allow a quiet space for sitting back and relaxing.

Each room is equipped with ceiling fans and heated bathrooms, bar fridges, Mnet TV, hairdryers, and tea/coffee making facilities, with movies available on request. .For added piece of mind each room has an independent alarm system. Ample secure parking is provided adjacent to the lodge.

A wide and varied freshly prepared substantial cooked breakfast is provided. Freshly prepared fruit salads and baked muffins are provided daily. Our breakfasts are guaranteed to satisfy even the heartiest appetite. Special dietary requirements accommodated for, just ask us and we’ll do our best to ensure your requests are catered for

We are able to take advantage of the sub-tropical climate by dining 'al fresco' under the cover of a large thatched gazebo that forms the centrepiece for the garden. A large C shaped 13m swimming pool, which has a deep end of 3m, which is ideal for all diving enthusiasts, hugs the gazebo. Pool loungers are provided for you to sit by the pool and soak up the Durban sunshine. The underwater pool lighting and subtle garden lights provide a truly tropical island atmosphere to the place after dark

Agulhas House is also only 20mins drive from Durban Airport (transfers can be arranged). It is also just up the road from Sappi Saiccor for the businessman.

The other five are on the second floor and three have slight sea views. Each room is equipped with ceiling fans, some have air conditioners, and heated bathrooms, bar fridges, Mnet TV, hairdryers, and tea/coffee making facilities, with movies available on request. .For added piece of mind each room has an independent alarm system. Ample secure parking is provided adjacent to the lodge.

We have two Family rooms comprising two interleading rooms sharing a bathroom both of which lead onto the outside patios. These rooms are furnished as our other rooms and have the same amenities. One room also has air conditioners in it.
