Artist's Paradise is a home-from-home farm-style guesthouse situated in the beautiful valley of Kabeljousriver - just a 5 min drive outside Jeffreys Bay and the beach. The guesthouse used to be a farm-house for nearly 100 years, but we succeeded in keeping the peaceful atmosphere.
The art-studio of Adelheid Peltenburg is next to the guesthouse in the former horse-stable. Our artistic guests are free to make use of the studio. A selection of the paintings of Adelheid Peltenburg are exhibited [for sale] in the guesthouse.
The farm has got a wide variety of nature: the wetlands of the Kabeljousriver, some original fynbos and rhenosterfields, dams and bushfields. The gentle sloping area surrounding the guesthouse has been ploughed and planted for grazing. Isolated clumps of indigenous shrubs have re-established on some lesser utilised areas of this wetland. ACCOMMODATION Dutch owner, Adelheid, offers comfortable en-suite bedrooms, lounge, dining-room with fireplace, library, TV room, covered vestibule, swimming-pool with covered bar-area and beautiful garden. Dinner is available on request.
BREAKFAST We serve a continental breakfast: bread or small loafs, jam, cheese, yogurt, cereals, eggs, juice, milk, coffee or tea.

DirectionsFrom N2 Port Elizabeth
On N2 Port Elizabeth - Humansdorp/Knysna/George/Cape Town take turn off Jeffreys Bay East/Mondplaas. Follow signs Jeffreys Bay. You are now on the R102. After about 9 km you will go over the Kabeljousriver (very fainted green sign board) and see the brown sign board "Artist's Paradise". Turn right: Kabeljousriver/Smithtown. From here it is another 2.5 km. You will cross the Apple Express Railway and go under the N2. The road will become a gravel road. Turn right again at the sign board "Artist's Paradise". You are now on the farm road. Turn right again after the yellow water tank and drive into the garden gate. Turn left and park your car in front of the garages.
From N2 George/Knysna/Humansdorp
On N2 Humansdorp - Port Elizabeth take turn off Jeffreys Bay. After about 3 km turn left on the circle "Kabeljous" [So don't go into Jeffreys Bay]. You are now on the R102. After about 4 km you will see the Kabeljous Lagoon at your right hand side and the brown sign board "Artist's Paradise". Turn left: Kabeljousriver/Smithtown. From here it is another 2.5 km. You will cross the Apple Express Railway and go under the N2. The road will become a gravel road. Turn right again at the sign board "Artist's Paradise". You are now on the farm road. Turn right again after the yellow water tank and drive into the garden gate. Turn left and park your car in front of the garages.
From Jeffreys Bay
From Central Jeffreys Bay follow the long 'Da Gama Road' (the sea at your right hand side). At the T-junction turn right: R102 Port Elizabeth. After about 500 m you will see the brown sign board "Artist's Paradise". Turn left: Kabeljousriver/Smithtown. From here it is another 2.5 km. You will cross the Apple Express Railway and go under the N2. The road will become a gravel road. Turn right again at the sign board "Artist's Paradise". You are now on the farm road. Turn right again after the yellow water tank and drive into the garden gate. Turn left and park your car in front of the garages.
